The unit traces its history to Boise, Idaho in 1941 and later was re-designated as the 566th in 1943 On April 1st, 2024, 207 Air National Guard band members will transition into new jobs in the Guard, new careers with active duty bands, new opportunities with the Army Guard bands, and some will be eligible for retirement.
